Rocket ’57 is a Cambridgeshire based three-piece rock and roll pub, club, wedding and function band.
The band takes music from the 1950s as the main source of its inspiration and loves the music of Buddy Holly, Chuck Berry, Eddie Cochran, Jerry Lee Lewis and Elvis Presley. However they have a broad taste in music and also play songs from other eras and genres, but always with a rock and roll vibe.
The band prides itself in their playing and the way they involve the audience in the music, with a few laughs along the way too. Their aim is that everyone has a good time and gets into the party atmosphere.
The band are:
Claude Domino – guitar and vocals. Claude played in various blues bands during the 1990s and 2000s, and in recent years rediscovered his childhood love for rock and roll with Rocket ’57 being the result.
Lorretta Black – drums. Lorretta provides the beating heart of Rocket ’57 and with her American heritage, including a few years living in Memphis, it’s clear that rock and roll is truly in her blood.
Bertie Hornchurch – bass and vocals. Rock and roll needs great bass lines to keep the audience swinging and this is what Bertie delivers, as well as stepping up to the mic to provide backing vocals.
